About

De Islas means “Of Islands” in Spanish. Thus named for its two ambassadors, Junko and Elena originate from sub-continental lands, and for their love of general island culture. Surrounding waters make flux characteristic to islands, applicable from weather anomalies to cultural heritage. With an identity shaped by migrated styles from all over, our artwork looks and speaks of such fusion and continues to evolve through our comings and goings.

We approach each new creation as a labor of discovery. Among the frenzy of influences and inspirations today - those actively pursued and those helplessly consumed - we try to uncover and express a unique De Islas visual element for our clients. Our prints are original collaborative artworks designed to seamlessly repeat. We create concepts from the drawing board that end up as rolls of fabric, wallpaper, ready-to-print surface designs with versatile and functional applications.

What is your project about? How can we compliment and enhance your vision?

We love to work on designs that interpret an idea and most of all, we love to see it serve a purpose and materialize into tangible new formats. Decorating a space, supporting a message, being worn, brightening up a room, and being lived in.

Background matters, because there’s always a story behind, because having reminders around makes life more colorful, and of course because we deal in matters concerning that fun surrounding environment.
